This very rare set was commissioned to honor the new Russian Federation and the election of the first President in history, Boris Yeltsin. It consists of seven leaders of Russia from the last Emperor (Nicolas II) to the First President.

These dolls are in excellent condition, The painted surfaces are excellent and all fit together precisely as they should. These dolls have been hand made and hand painted by Russian artisans for almost 130 years!

The first Russian nested doll set was carved in 1890 by. Who was a folk crafts painter.

This set comes from my Father's collection and was given to him on a trip to Russia in 1990's and includes (from largest to smallest). Boris Yeltsin, Mikhail Gorbachev, Leonid Brezhnev, Nikita Khrushchev, Joseph Stalin, Vladimir Lenin and Tsar Nicholas II. I'm pricing this super rare set right remember there are 7 dolls in all!!!
