Absolutely gorgeous set of 5 nesting dolls each exquisitely painted and signed by the artist. These dolls each depict various winter Russian snow scenes including sled riding, ice skating a snow man. Really really high quality work on this one. Largest doll is 6" and the smallest is just a bit bigger than 1.5". Dolls are in good condition. Some very very slight loss of paint around the seam of the largest doll see last picture. Other spots on the pictures are glare from the high gloss finish. As the continuity of life and beauty in nature are symbolized by Mother Earth, the mother image as represented in Matroyshka carries within her life and its promise of renewal with never ending imagination and color. Several years back I received an entire collection (over 350 sets of nesting dolls, eggs, bottle holders and other items) from an ederly woman who collected these items since the 1970's and they are from multiple countries. Many have original receipts and or price tags and boxes or packaging. I do my best to describe each piece accurately. If you have any questions, please ask.
