Nesting doll (stacking doll) or Matryoshka doll is a set of dolls decreasing in sizes placed one inside another. The word ma-tr-o-sh-ka is related to the old Russian word mat, meaning mother. A lot of Russian artists love to paint their favorite fairy tales personages on the doll. We present a limited edition of Russian Nesting Dolls.

Beautifully painted and generous rich gold accents. Material: linden wood, oil paint, clear lacquer finish. Condition note: the paint on the seam of the large doll does have a small area of distress. Excellent condition from non-smoking home. Any white spots and lines on the pictures below is just a reflection of the lacquer, while pictures were taken.
