This stunning hand made set features 35 dolls, ranging from the size of your thumb to 26 inch high, each doll nesting within the next largest. Each doll features a unique hand painted portrait of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Child Jesus Christ ornamented in gold- and silver-foil. With God the Father in the foreground. The outer doll is embellished with gold traditional Russian decorative design derived from Byzantine illuminations. The doll was completely made and painted in Sergei Posad (St Sergius City where the Holy Trinity-St Sergius Monastery is located), Russia.
