Matryoshka nesting dolls

  

This is a very nice set of Russian possibly Ukrainian nesting dolls. 8 piece Matryoshka babushka dolls with wonderfully hand painted love story and gorgeous blonde woman with blue eyes. They range in size from 3" x 5" to ¼ x?

The dolls have a love story painted on the bottom half of the front of the doll. Story starts with a young man and woman meeting for the first time. They start to get to know each other and fall in love in as the dolls get smaller. Eventually she is sitting alone and sad. The last 2 dolls are just the landscape with no figures.
