Old Matryoshka RUSSIAN NESTING DOLLS, Pyrography, Ceprueb Nocag, Sergiev Posad. VINTAGE SET RUSSIAN NESTING DOLLS. Adorable vintage hand painted pyrography wood Russian Matryoshka 10-piece graduated nesting doll set measuring from about 10-1/2" tall to 1" in size.

Featuring wonderful decoration with heavy gilt paint accenting, faces are charming with long eyelashes and little red bow mouths - all bear iconic Russian townscape scenes with onion dome architecture. Signed on the base as shown (I think it says Sergiev Posad). Condition is excellent with no cracks, chips or damage. They have been cherished and well protected from scuffs, scratches or wear - no fading or damage - each fits together neatly - wood burning work is very detailed.

Hoping someone will cherish them - a recent acquisition from a Russian estate - wish I could tell you what the wording on the largest doll says... Wonderful addition to any collection or display!
