Beautiful Russian Handmade Nesting Christmas "Egg" Set of 6 Eggs. Produced and designed at the Ryazan Art Workshop in solid hand-turned Linden wood. This matryoshka features different scenes from the life of Christ on each of the 6 eggs. The first egg is a Nativity scene.

The second egg is Jesus's baptism. The following eggs are the Garden of Gethsemane, the Crucifixion with the last "surprise egg" being Jesus' Ascension. Every detailed illustration on the front is achieved through a clever combination of printing and hand painting. Titles of the scenes are hand written in Russian in gold ink on the backs of all six eggs.

The tallest egg is approx. 6 inches high with the "surprise" smallest egg of Jesus ascending being approx.
