Beautiful set of TEN Russian Nesting Dolls or Matryoshka signed as being made in Sergiev Posad with woodburned etching and hand painted/stained details. The center etchings are of the Monastery at Sergiev Posad, the Trinity Lavra of St. I assume the top words on the bottom are the artist's name but do not read cyrillic and online translations seem to be baffled so not sure what all it says other than the city where it was made. These dolls are just gorgeous.

They range in size from approx. 10 on the larger one down to less than an inch on the smallest.
